Discover the cutting-edge innovation brought to you by the delightfully peculiar minds at Planet Venus Audio Technologies, LLC® and Sonic Studio Pro.
We proudly present Spectral Coherence Control - Mastering Version.

Spectral Coherence Control is different from other Plug-ins because it allows you to control the low-level musical distortion that defines the type of sound that you perceive, and then lets the core audio material shine through in a way no other tool can. With Spectral Coherence Control using just a few parameters, with care and a head-start with a curated preset suite of values to pick from, you can create compelling and dynamic, or organic and smooth audio that prior to this breakthrough has not been possible to achieve with any tool.
Recordings contain varying amounts and levels of artifacts mixed in with the musical components. Most of them are by-products of the multi-mic recording process, some are due to inherent equipment limitations. These artifacts require our brains to work harder to process the extraneous information leading to listener fatigue in some situations – now you can adjust those artifacts to your liking.
SCC-M’s interface has been designed to offer precision and flexibility while remaining intuitive for professional users.
Global Parameters Section
At the heart of SCC-M are five global parameters, which influence the overall sound of the processed audio:
Separation: Controls the distinctness of individual sounds within the mix. Values of less than 1 are recommended.
⁃ Lower values: Increased separation, making each sound more distinct.
⁃ Higher values: Reduced separation, creating a more blended soundscape.
Resolution: Adjusts the detail and clarity of low-level audio information.
⁃ Lower values: Reduced resolution, less fine detail.
⁃ Higher values: Enhanced resolution, capturing more intricate sonic nuances.
Reference Level: Sets the threshold for processing.
⁃ Lower levels: Apply more processing, targeting deeper distortions.
⁃ Higher levels: Reduce the processing effect for a more subtle touch.
Coherence: Balances clarity and smoothness in the audio.
⁃ Positive values: Enhance clarity and definition.
⁃ Negative values: Blend elements for a smoother, less distinct output.
Gain: Compensates for any perceived volume changes after distortion removal, ensuring a consistent output level.
Frequency Bands
SCC-M divides the frequency spectrum into six bands, allowing targeted control over specific areas of the audio. For each band, you can adjust:
Span: A ‘by-band’ alteration of the overall Reference Level’ when more or less processing is desired in some bands as compared to others.
Coherence: Fine-tunes the clarity or blended within the selected band.
This approach enables precise adjustments to areas like the low end, mids, or high frequencies without affecting the rest of the spectrum.
Understanding the User Interface
Adjustable Parameters
Parameters available for editing are displayed in white text.
Inactive or unavailable parameters are greyed out.
FFT Display
The User Interface provides real-time visual feedback through color-coded buttons and FFT plots:
White Plot: Displays the characteristics of the original, unprocessed audio when the "Original" button is active.
Yellow Plot: Shows the distortion and noise removed by SCC-M when the "Removed" button is active. Note that the ‘6.0’ text next to the yellow “Removed” button indicates that +6dB of gain is added to the noise you are listening to. Gain is added to the distortion you are hearing to enable easier fine tuning. That value can be adjusted to zero.
Green Plot: Represents the processed audio output, reflecting the changes made by SCC-M, when the "Processed" button is active.
These visual tools help you analyze and fine-tune the audio with precision.
Preset Library
To streamline your workflow, SCC-M includes a comprehensive library of over 40 preset files
